The best beginner project using your Cricut Explore Air 2 would have to be rolled paper flowers! Although they can might look intimidating, I promise you they are NOT! They make the cutest addition to any project.

When I first started my crafting journey and purchased my first Cricut Explore Air 2 – I started with making large paper flowers. Large paper flowers are super fun to make and so elegant for any occasion. However large paper flowers can take time to create and that’s where ROLLED PAPER FLOWERS come in!

Roller paper flowers are the easiest paper flowers you can make! What makes it the easiest is your Cricut Explore Air 2 and design space! Cricut Design Space has so many rolled paper flower designs – you will find one that you absolutely LOVE. There’s a design for everyone.

Cricut Design Space offers an abundance of rolled paper flower options. When you are searching for images search for “3D paper flowers” and you will have tons of options. Personally, I love that I can customize it specifically for my project. Each paper flower design has a unique twist to the end result. These are perfect for DIY gifts and shadow box projects!

All you need are four essential accessories (see list below) in order to start your rolled paper flowers. The quilling tool is ESSENTIAL to make a rolled paper flower. Fortunately for you, Cricut offers a Quilling Tool in the Paper Crafting Set. It makes rolling paper flowers super easy. You can most definitely use your fingers but they might cramp – I strongly recommend getting a Cricut Quilling Tool! They make rolling paper flowers extremely easy.

Now, let’s talk CARDSTOCK! I love using Cricut Cardstock when making rolled paper flowers. Typically, I like to use 65lb cardstock when working with paper flowers but keep in mind that Cricut Cardstock is 80lb so just a tad thicker than 65lb cardstock. However, that should not stop you from using Cricut Cardstock because they have lots of color options and size! The Cricut cardstock is also textured which makes the end result even prettier and unique!
